Technorati Tags by Category

The Technorati TagMan game uses popular tags as a keyword database. I find it's sometimes interesting to take a look at these tags and see what's popular. The keyword tags often fit into the same categories: Technology (hardware, software, internet), Celebrity, Politics, and Blogosphere (keywords that don't seem to make sense anywhere but in the realm of blogs). For example, here's a breakdown of some recent popular tags, by these categories:

• Hardware: iphone, mac, ipod
  
• Software: vista, wordpress, windows, windows vista
  
• Internet: youtube, ebay, google tv, myspace, second life, google, web 2.0, flickr
  
• Celebrity: paris hilton, barbaro, shilpa shetty
  
• Politics: hillary clinton, bush, war, daffy does doom, barack obama, china, iran, israel, usa
  
• Blogosphere: tammy nyp, violent acres, blogparteeh07
